China's self-developed commercial aircraft complete demonstration flights in Xinjiang
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) released news on Tuesday that as an ARJ21 regional jet of the COMAC Express flew from Kuqa Qiuci Airport to Diwopu International Airport in Urumqi, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, completing the last leg of demonstration flights.
It marked the successful conclusion of the demonstration flights of domestic commercial aircraft in Xinjiang, which lasted one month and covered all 25 civil transport airports in Xinjiang.
During this period, COMAC has invested in one domestically developed ARJ21 regional jet and two C919 aircraft, China's self-developed large passenger aircraft, carrying out demonstration flights in different bases and stages. The flights fully proved the adaptability of domestic commercial aircraft to Xinjiang's complex terrain, diverse climate, changeable weather, and multiple airport sites, laying a foundation for the subsequent operation of domestic commercial aircraft in Xinjiang.
